Uh oh, it’s your turn to host the whole family for Christmas? Don’t panic! A little bit of extra prep and planning will make sure (almost) everyone’s needs are covered: the kids’, the grandparents’, and most importantly, yours.

Christmas should be a time to unwind, laugh, share, and fill your belly.
The more you can coordinate beforehand, the less hassle you’ll experience on the day. Head online and decide on your choice of colourful umbrella, simple eziup, or marquee in virtually any size – to protect your guests from the elements.
Hire a 1.8 rectangular table, Bentwood chairs, or padded white folding chairs for extra comfort, along with a classic linen tablecloth as your design canvas. Decide on a central table display – gum leaves, flowers candles, baubles, tinsel – then add crockery, glasses, cutlery and platters.
Hearty feast
If you have all your furniture and catering gear delivered, all you need to do is focus on cooking up a delicious feast – most of which can be done beforehand and kept warm.
Enhance your kitchen capabilities with a gas roaster on wheels (plenty of space for more than one turkey), a Bain Marie to keep everything piping hot, or even a mobile cool room to keep the fridge uncluttered.
Games and silliness
Keep the kids happy (and out of the way) with their own special table. The children’s timber table can be teamed with children’s timber chairs. Fold serviettes into some quirky shapes and throw some toys on the table. Better yet, cover the tables with paper so the kids can draw and scribble.
Encourage backyard games for the littlies and the biggies with giant Jenga, Connect 4 or Cornholes.
