Prenatal preps
To welcome the mum-to-be and her lady friends to the special day, set up an elegant welcome sign on a wooden easel. Then scatter flowers and greenery abundantly to delight all the senses.
When it comes to décor and theming, there’s no need to settle on pink or blue. Instead, consider adding soft pastel tones around the room – perhaps lemon, aqua or peach.
Then throw cushions, rugs, balloons, candles and soft lighting into the mix. Get your hands on a few cuddly teddy bears to really ramp up the cute factor.
Tempting treats
Set up a grazing table topped with a crisp tablecloth. This will enable your guests to help themselves to treats as often as they please.
Arrange boards of cheeses, quince paste and crackers. Offer freshly cut fruit on classic square platters, and tasty morsels of cake. For added wow, hire some three-tier cake stands for mini-sandwiches or cupcakes.
You could even colour-theme your foods! Too much? Sorry, we’re getting a little carried away.
Be merry
Grab a few beverage dispensers for a variety of juices or punch. Remember to offer non-alcoholic options to suit guest preferences. And be sure to have tea and coffee on standby.
The bump has arrived
When the mum-of-the-moment arrives, you’ll want to encourage some fun and laughter, and help to create lasting memories.
How about pinning up some charming baby photos of the mum- and dad-to-be? Or arranging gift bingo to make present opening fun for everyone?
Our favourite tip? Put out a guest book and pen to capture all those words of wisdom from the mothers and grandmothers in the room.
