Plant the seed
There is so much inspiration online, so start with Pinterest to get the creativity flowing.
Then think about whether you are envisaging:
- a classic, rustic, vintage or modern style
- vibrant colours versus pastel hues
- a formal or casual set up.
Once you’ve decided on these main ideas, the rest of your decisions will be easier.
Garden party 101
Flowers and foliage always say ‘garden party’, no matter your colour scheme or venue.
Think of floral arrangements in pots, in topiary, in vases and on tables. What about an arbour draped in bloomy colour?
Decide on cottage style flowers or native arrangements. Perhaps lots of greenery is more your style. Or work with a mix of whatever you can find locally.
In any form, an abundance of flora sets the scene for a garden feel, indoors or out.
Get the essentials
From here, you’ll need a few essentials.
Crisp white tablecloths are a must. Then think about your tableware – from glassware to platters. Chair choice will also depend on your style preference. Try our Bentwood chairs in walnut or Chiavari chairs in classic white.
Now you’ll need the right lighting for when the sun goes down. Drape festoon lights between trees, dot twinkly fairy lights in your marquee, or go classic with pendant spheres.
The little extras
Different textures and materials lend a sense of sophistication. Introduce warmth and interest with crates, tubs, timber, concrete and blackboard signs. Throw in some rugs and cushions to encourage time on the lawn, and hire drink dispensers for a chilled vibe.
