Message in a bottle
There are so many wonderful nautical puns to add some humour and a do-it-yourself feel to your special day. You can link ‘tying the knot’ with thick knotted ropes draped over tables or surrounding table centrepieces. Or use anchors as a metaphor for your relationship – print them on name cards or menus.
Pre-loved wine bottles give a weathered look. Table numbers, treasure maps or candles can be buried inside them.
Seashells and coral can also be introduced as decorations on guest tables, or at the bar, cake table or present table.
Tie the knot
Blue and white are the primary nautical colours, so use stripes, deep blue hues and simple flower arrangements.
If you can find an old boat, fill it with ice buckets and drinks. Hire our large wine barrels as handy areas for small groups to flock and congregate.
